On the trails of Ancaria’s blacksmiths: Enhancing and evolving items in the forge [SACRED LEGENDS]
Heroes, today we would like to give you a little lecture on the amazing things you can do in the forge – if you have the right ingredients at hand. While questing, you will find all kinds of more or less valuable loot. Some of these items you will keep for your own usage (“equip”). Others you will merge with the stuff you already possess (“enhance”). Yet again others you will refine to all-new levels of grandeur (“evolve”). While equipping should be rather self-explanatory, enhancing and evolving might require a little more guidance.
In the example above, we are about to enhance the Dented Steel Tunic to its current peak level of 20, investing a rare sword and three different orbs.
Every weapon, armor or jewelry (of uncommon or higher quality) can be enhanced until it reaches a peak value, which depends on the item’s rarity. For every level an item gains towards its peak value, it stats become a little better. So enhancing your items directly results in an increase of your fighting power.
Pushing our Dented Steel Tunic to its current peak level of 20 not only improved its stats but also qualified it for evolution from "rare" to "epic".
To enhance an item, go to the forge, select the “enhance” tab and choose an item from your inventory. Then pick all the items and orbs you want to use as material for the enhancement. Usually, you merge several minor items with one item of higher quality (not the other way round).
Hint 1: The more material you invest, the higher you can push the selected item. And the more expensive the enhancement will become. So better keep an eye on your treasury during the procedure.
Hint 2: Not all items and orbs work equally well for enhancing a specific piece. For example, a sword can best be enhanced with weapon orbs and other swords. Gloves and earrings also make a sword better, but their effect on a sword is not as big as that of another sword.
Now that we have fully enhanced our Dented Steel Tunic, we can increase its rarity via evolution. To do so, however, we still need a Greater Armor Rune.
When you evolve an item, you do not bring it closer to its peak value but increase its rarity – e.g. you evolve an item from rare to epic. However, this cannot be done with every item. It only works with those, which have at least one “unfilled” star left on their icon. And even for those, there is another criteria: Before they qualify for evolution, they must be enhanced to their current peak level.
In the rune forge we create the runes we need for the evolution of our Dented Steel Tunic. This requires recipes and crystals.
To evolve an item, you have to use different runes on it. Which runes you need in particular, you will learn as soon as you select the respective item in the “evolve” tab of the forge.
Hint 3: The sequence of the evolution procedure goes as follows: common > uncommon > rare > epic > legendary.
Hint 4: Runes are hard to find on quests and exhibitions. Thus, your main source of obtaining them is the rune forge. Here, you can forge all types of runes by combining the right kinds of recipes and crystals. These, you find in the dungeon or during your other endeavors.
We hope today’s blog helped you find your way around the forge in Sacred Legends. If you still have questions, feel free to ask them in the comments or via Facebook. And if you know any more secrets that make enhancements and evolutions a little easier, share them with your fellow players.
